About InstantPrice

The market for pre-owned electronics is a bit of a wild west. Ask ten different people what a used iPhone is worth and you'll get ten different answers — each one shaped by where they looked, what they last sold something for, and what they think they can get away with asking. There's no shared reference point. No authority. Just a lot of guessing on both sides of every transaction.

That's the problem InstantPrice was built to solve.

I started a consumer electronics buyback company a few years ago. We bought and resold thousands of devices and the biggest operational challenge we faced — consistently — was pricing. Not logistics, not customer acquisition, not competition. Pricing. Getting an accurate, real-time read on what a specific device was actually worth in the current market was harder than it had any right to be. We were pulling from multiple sources, cross-referencing sold listings manually, and still second-guessing ourselves on edge cases. If that was hard for a professional operation running at scale, I couldn't imagine what it was like for an individual seller trying to price their old phone on Facebook Marketplace.

InstantPrice is my attempt to build the trust layer that the pre-owned market is missing. A single authoritative reference point — built on real sold listing data, updated continuously, and accessible to anyone for free. The same price a professional resale buyer would arrive at after doing their own research, available in seconds.

We're starting with electronics because that's where I know the market best. More categories are coming soon.
